Orange Tree Toys Secures Licence for Brand New Children’s TV Series – ‘Moon and Me’

Designs Subject to Approval

Orange Tree Toys were delighted to display their latest licenced wooden toy collection from Moon and Me at this year’s Spring Fair.

Set in a toy house, Moon and Me, created by Andrew Davenport (Teletubbies and In the Night Garden) and told by Nina Sosanya (Good Omens, W1A, Last Tango in Halifax, Killing Eve, Love Actually) is a brand-new pre-school series which aired on CBeebies Bedtime on the 4th February 2019, coinciding with the Spring Fair.

Inspired by pre-school children’s toy-house play, Moon and Me explores the special bonds between its characters – a child’s toys who come to life each night, and how they demonstrate kindness, empathy and consideration to one another - and to their newest friend, Moon Baby. The programme is also designed to celebrate reading, writing, drawing and play.

Dedicated to providing a range of beautifully crafted traditional children’s toys, the Moon and Me concept fits with the Orange Tree ethos and commitment to imaginative play.

Orange Tree Toys was first established in 2000, and is run by two sisters, Anuja Wilson and Lamani Simons. Orange Tree own brand toys are designed in the UK, at the headquarters in the Cotswold countryside. Products include beautifully crafted and colourful push-alongs, skittles, puzzles, mobiles, music boxes and bookends.

Creative Director Anuja, and the design team are constantly on the lookout for inspiration for exciting new products, “We design and manufacture both bespoke and own brand products for a number of national retailers, and we are very excited to have a license for exciting brands (such Moon and Me).”

Renowned for creating premium quality television for young children, Andrew Davenport developed the Moon and Me’s narrative and structure out of Foundling Bird’s Toy House Play Observation Project, conducted in partnership with the University of Sheffield.

Davenport stated: “Pepi Nana and her friends share books, write letters to each other, draw pictures, make things, invent things and go in search of adventure together. By deliberately eschewing any form of CGI in favour of filming with beautifully-realised real objects, Moon and Me celebrates children’s imaginative play with ‘real stuff’, - ironically perhaps - play that happens away from screens.”

Orange tree also hold the license for brands such as Peter Rabbit™, Disney, Paddington Bear™ and The Snowman™. For further information log on to: www.orangetreetoys.com.
