The Giftware Association is excited to announce the Shortlist for the 2019 Gift of The Year competition. The judges had their work cut out for the first round of online judging with over 1100 entries across 20 categories, but the shortlist has been decided, which you can view below. The next stage will be our much anticipated live judging day which brings the judges and products face to face in a secret location in Birmingham, where they will get to touch, hold and smell the shortlisted products to make their final choices.
Congratulations to all the companies who were lucky enough to make the shortlist and a huge thank you to everyone for all the amazing products, it has been a tough year this year for the judges with the amount of quality, design led products on offer. The initial feedback from the judges was that this year has been made especially difficult with a wide selection of quality products.
“As ever, we are delighted by the diversity of products this year. We are blown away by some of our categories, particularly Ethical Gift and Design & Craft, which have each more than doubled our expectations,” said Luke Palmer, the competition’s project manager.
The winners from the live judging day will be kept under wraps and announced on the first evening of Spring Fair in February, at an all-inclusive ceremony on the main stage in Hall 20. Everyone is invited to see who the winners are, and IS an excellent opportunity for buyers and retailers to meet the people behind the products. Entry to the event is free and The Giftware Association would like to invite as many of the industry to come together to raise a toast to the hard work of the winners, to network and celebrate all that is great about the home an giftware world.
